General Practitioner
Doctor Deborah Gilbert graduated from the University of NSW in 1991. After hospital training, she pursued further qualifications for a career in general practice. This includes holding a Diploma of Paediatrics, a Diploma of Obstetrics and a Sexual and Reproductive Health Certificate. She worked in a range of practices across Sydney before joining Balgowlah Village in 2010.
Deborah is passionate about primary health care and the importance for patients to have a long-term, trusted GP. She is interested in all aspects of general practice, particularly women’s health including menopause management, care of the elderly, chronic disease management and paediatrics. She enjoys the long-term relationships she has with her patients and caring for whole families.
Deborah advocates life-long learning and co-ordinates the practice’s regular professional educational meetings.
Outside of her medical practice, she is a member of local church St Matthews, Manly, and enjoys all things outdoors, including hiking, camping, birdwatching and rollerskating.
